Agency Real Property Profile

Per the Federal Real Property Profile, DOE manages 129 million square feet of space, of which 121 million is Federally owned and 8 million is leased. DOE’s real property portfolio is composed primarily of large complexes of diverse facilities including highly unique, high-value facilities of critical importance to DOE mission including reactors and accelerators. The graph to the right shows the different types of space DOE uses. The "All Others" slice of the graph is made up of numerous minor categories that includes laboratories, hospitals, prisons & detention centers and industrial buildings.

Reduction in Real Property Usage
